El Roio is an emblematic restaurant located at Avenida San Miguel, number 68, in Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz. Founded in 1947 by Francisco García Benítez, it has been managed by three generations of the same family, becoming a gastronomic and social reference in the town.
Originally known as the Ventorrillo de Vista Alegrethe establishment was acquired by Francisco García Benítez in 1947 and renamed as Bar Roio, en honor al apodo familiar. In 1972, his son Manuel García took over the management, accompanied by his wife Isabel López and their five children, consolidating the bar as a meeting point for the residents of the San Miguel neighborhood. In 2008, the third generation, represented by Francisco García, took over the reins of the business, modernizing the facilities and expanding the gastronomic offer.
